NaplesSmartGirl.com is now LIVE! This is the domain name I chose to set up my new Active Rain outside blog. The whole process was easy and took just a tiny bit of effort. In fact, if it hadn't been for my loser wireless Internet connection (since I am "vacationing" in the sticks right now) it took me awhile but had I been on real speed, it probably would've only taken a few minutes to set it up.
I'm excited about my new blog and thrilled that I have yet another tool to help me expose my market, listings and services. The great folks at Active Rain have done a magnificent job providing all sorts of ways to make me more productive and there's just no doubt about it, I have definitely benefited from them. So once again Active Rain Geniuses, I THANK YOU!
Who knew that I could start a blog and have 160 posts on that blog by the end of the same day!

SHANNON - This is on my list of things to do. I'm still deciding exactly what I want it to be. Yours looks great, but that is no surprise to me.
I have to assume it's beneficial Ryan...but since I just set it up time will tell. I actually have a blog on my main website too so I will use this in addition to. I do like the fact that when people ask me what my blog address is I can simply tell them NaplesSmartGirl now compared to saying well if you go to Active Rain and look me up along with lots of my competition you'll find me. :)
Oh Adam, it will take you 4 seconds to set it up. I literally bought the domain today and the whole smack. The more I think about it the more excited I get. It's nice to have a separate blog so I can talk to my real estate friends about real estate, and then talk to my consumer about the real estate market. Plus, I've noticed that my localism posts are always placing anymore which is a real downer so hopefully that will help!
Wait first off........... YOU ARE STILL ON VACATION?????

Great name and the blog looks great. It was easy to set up, now just waiting on the google juice. On my post on StackIt, that was the only blog at this point not showing up.
Hi Shannon - Your site looks great. You were a Naples smart girl to get your own URL. Many are missing out on the SEO benefits of having your own domain name.
I love it! I set up mine as well and the best part is that it gives you a nice easy-to-remember url to use on all your promotion materials (instead of the activerain.com/blogs/xxxx we had before). I bought my own domain too and I agree, it was easy to set up!

my biggest problem is coming up with a good domain name? Any suggestions? I know it's silly to ask but you're the smart girl right? I really wanted "chrisandmaria.com" but that takes you to some lady and her family somewhere far from Redding where we are...so I also have purchased www.blogredding.com but not sure that it will stick with people...any thoughs?

Chris and Maria: Your blog is adorable. Good domain names can be difficult to figure out but what I have been told is you want to try to keep your name out of the actual domain and use the market that you are selling so your blogredding domain name is actually GREAT! Naples Smart Girl was actually something that evolved after studying my web statistics for quite some time. I was noticing that people were remember parts of my slogan that I use, "Smart Girl, Great Results" Then I started seeing dirivitives of that. So actually that's how I came up with my domain name. If you use Google Analytics, you might go through how people found your site based of your keywords and see if anything jumps out for you there. Good luck to you! :)
