I've had this thing in the back of my head for quite some time that I would like to own property in the mountains of Colorado but I don't want to overspend and I'm not one of those buyers who has to be in the "it" place to be like Vail or Aspen. What I am interested in is a good place to ski, not too far from an airport and a place with decent property values with a chance for appreciation. Has anybody else done any homework like that lately?

foreclosures are high out there right now, should be some good buys
Wow Shannon. You just described Summit County perfectly!
Four great ski resorts (Breckenridge, Copper Mtn., Keystone, & Arapahoe Basin).
Just an hour from Denver. 25 minutes to Vail.
Not many foreclosures here though. Average annual appreciation of 19%.
Would you like a condo, townhome, or single family house? Of course, any property here can be placed into a rental pool for some income. Near the ski slopes is best for rental revenue, just like beachfront in Florida.
